LIVE

After seeing the Jack Black film School Of Rock at age 10, Dominic developed a life long passion for live performance. Inspired by the vibrant multi-instrumentalism of Arcade Fire, the lyrical honesty of Los Campesinos! and the sonic excellence of Sigur Rós and Radiohead, he started writing and performing his own songs as a teenager before becoming a keen member of the Sheffield music scene while at university. He plays guitar, bass guitar, drums and keyboards and is happy performing both as a frontman and as an instrumentalist.

CLARA PANDY

2012-2016

Clara Pandy was the brain-child of Dominic and fellow Sheffield music student Laura Yie. Starting as an acoustic song-writing duo in 2012, they became known for their catchy melodies and brutally honest lyrics. Following the self-recorded Bedroom EP, they recruited new members and became an alt-rock five-piece, releasing Rookie Error the next year. The EP enjoyed favourable reviews, with the track Clara making it into BBC Introducing Sheffield's top 50 tracks of 2016. Dominic left the band that summer to focus on his theatre career but not before recording the song Metaphor Free Radio for the film Dinner With God that featured at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival.

DEAD SLOW HOOT

2016-present

Dominic joined this Sheffield alt-rock four-piece in 2016 following their sophomore EP I Suppose They Were Better Off As Dead. Two years later, they signed to Wakefield indie label Philophobia who put out their debut album No Reunions in 2019. On tour, Dominic plays electric guitar, synth and backing vocals. In the studio, he additionally provides string and vocal arrangements and co-production. The band have played alongside acts including Big Thief and Billy Bragg and have enjoyed radio play from BBC Radio 6's Steve Lamacq. EARLY CARTOGRAPHERS

2014-present

Featuring a revolving lineup of instrument-swapping multi-instrumentalists Ã  la Arcade Fire or Broken Social Scene, Sheffield's Early Cartographers were formed around the idea of a band who could play anywhere, with no need for amplification. The sextet play musically challenging post-rock with a folk instrumentation. Dominic answered their call for a new percussionist in 2014, playing a reduced kit featuring cajon, floor tom, tambourine and cymbal. He performed on their second EP On Swings & Roundabouts as well as their debut album LookOut, released in 2015. Click here to see a performance of Telegraphs From Utopia.
